The KRÜSS Surface Science Lab APAC has recently been inaugurated at the renowned Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), marking the culmination of a phase of close cooperation. Together with our exclusive distributor and long-term partner, ORBIT Research Associates Pvt. Ltd., we celebrated this significant step forward for surface science in the region and for the KRÜSS academic network.
The ICT is one of India's most prestigious scientific institutions, awarding around one in ten doctoral degrees in chemistry. Founded in 1933, the ICT received accreditation as a “deemed university” in 2008 due to its high educational standards, granting it the academic status of a university.
The Surface Science Lab APAC is a joint platform for students, researchers, start-ups, and industry, enabling analyses using interfacial measurement technologies from KRÜSS. The focus is on building long-term expertise, promoting application-oriented research, and supporting industry in the formulation and processing of products for which interfacial processes are relevant.
At the inauguration, the ICT was represented by leaders shaping chemical engineering and higher education: Prof. M. M. Sharma (Chief Guest), Prof. A. B. Pandit, Prof. J. B. Joshi, Prof. Sunil Bhagwat, and Prof. R. D. Kulkarni. To emphasize the global impact of the collaboration, Alexander Leitloff (Director Global Sales) and Dr. Daniel Frese (Head of Applications & Science) from KRÜSS headquarters in Hamburg joined the celebration, accompanied by local KRÜSS representatives Abhijit Depak Bhoite (Regional Sales Manager Asia) and Dr. Fiona Mary Antony (Lab Manager APAC).
We eagerly await the upcoming research projects and industry collaborations that the new laboratory at ICT will enable.
